Steamed Veg Spring Roll

Ingredients –

  1. Carrot (cut into length wise) -1 cup
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Onions sliced –1 cup
  4. Green peas –1/2 cup
  5. Vegetable oil –2 tbsp.
  6. Chopped garlic cloves –3-4
  7. Capsicum (cut into length wise) –1 cup
  8. Red chilli sauce as per your taste
  9. White vinegar -1 tbsp.
  10. Soy sauce – 2 tbsps..
  11. Spring onions (sliced) – 1 cup
  12. Sugar –1/2 tsp. (optional)

Method –

  • Heat oil in a nonstick pan, add garlic and fry for 1 min.
  • Add onions cook for 1 minutes on medium heat.
  • Add carrots and cook for 1 minutes.
  • Now add capsicum cook for few minutes.
  • Add cabbage, spring onions, peas and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • After 1-2 minutes add salt, Sugar (optional)-1 tsp, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add white vinegar, soya sauce, red chilli sauce mix well and cover and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Vegetable stuffing is ready, turn off the heat. 
  • Add 1/2 cup of water in a plate and soak each roll for 1 minute.
  • Once the roll is soaked, take out the roll from water and place the roll on a flat surface.
  • Add one table spoon  of stuffing on the roll and fold the roll in uniform pattern as
    shown in the video.
  • Heat 2 cup water in idli maker or rice cooker, place the spring rolls in the boiler and cook for 15-20 minutes.
  • Steamed veg  spring roll is ready to serve.

Vegetable Momo / Dumpling with Garlic chutney


Ingredients –

  1. All-purpose flour/ Maida – 1 cup
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Oil – 1 tsp
  4. Water for kneading or as required

For filling –

  1. Finley chopped vegetables (cabbage, carrot, capsicum and spring onions)
  2. Chopped garlic – 1 tsp
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Soya sauce – 1 tsp
  5. Tomato sauce – 1 tsp
  6. Black pepper – ½ tsp

Method –

  • Take a bowl, add Maida, salt and 1 tsp oil. Knead to a stiff dough with water, cover the dough keep aside for 30 minutes.
  • For filling, heat a pan, add oil, garlic and onion, sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add all vegetables, fry on high heat and cook for 5 minutes.
  • After 5 minutes add salt, black pepper, soya sauce, tomato sauce and mix them together.


  • Turn off the flame let it cool down.
  • Take a small quantity of dough, using a rolling pin make a round shape out of it.


  • Wet the edges with water and place some filling in the center.


  • Bring edges together to cover the filling, twist to seal and repeat the same for rest of the dumplings.




Gobi Manchurian

Gobi Manchurian is a famous Indo Chinese cuisine, this is served in most of the Indian restaurants as well as a popular street food. You can prepare this dish with or without gravy, and taste best with either noodles or vegetable fried rice


Ingredients –

  1. Cauliflower florets (wash and dry) – 300 gm
  2. Garlic (finely chopped or paste) – 3 tsp
  3. Soya sauce – 2 tsp
  4. Tomato sauce – 1 tsp
  5. White vinegar – 1 tsp
  6. Chilli sauce/ chopped green chili – as par your taste
  7. Corn flour – 6 tsp
  8. Salt – to taste
  9. Black pepper – ½ tsp
  10. Spring onion – for garnishing
  11. Chopped Onion – 1 Medium sized
  12. Green Capsicum – 1 cup
  13. Vegetable Oil – for frying


Method –

  • Add 1 cup water to the corn flour (4 tsp) and stir it well until all lumps get dissolved.
  • Keep the flour thick enough so that the cauliflower florets get coated nicely with the mixture.
  • Add salt, black pepper, garlic (1 tsp), green chilli, and mix well.


  • Heat the oil in a pan, dip the cauliflower florets in the mixture of corn flour and place them in the pan gently.
  • Deep fry on medium heat till the florets turns golden brown and crispy.


  • Take out fried florets in the plate, fry rest of the florets in the same way.
  • Your cauliflower florets is ready.
  • To make the sauce of Gobi Manchurian, heat a pan and add 1 tsp of oil.
  • Add rest of the garlic, onion, capsicum, and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add green chilli, soya sauce, tomato sauce, white vinegar, and salt and cook for another few second.
  • Add water to rest of the corn flour in a separate bowl and stir well. Once all the lumps get dissolved, add the mixture into the pan.
  • Keep stirring for 2-3 minutes.


  • Once the sauce is ready, add the fried florets in the sauce, mix well until all the florets gets coated up the sauce. Sprinkle some spring onion for garnishing.


  • Gobi Manchurian is ready, serve with noodles/fried rice.

Note: Don’t add corn flour mix, if you want to prepare dry Gobi Manchurian.

Chinese vegetable fried rice

This is a very famous Chinese cuisine, which is very simple and easy to prepare. This is perfect for tiffin recipe for children’s or even for grownups. You can prepare this dish at special occasions  or even if you don’t have enough time to prepare lots of dishes.


Ingredients –

  1. Boiled rice – 2 cup
  2. Oil – 2 tsp
  3. Salt – to taste
  4. Green capsicum sliced – 1 cup
  5. Cabbage (finely shredded) -1 cup
  6. Carrot sliced -1 cup
  7. Onion – ½ cup
  8. Spring onion – 1
  9. Chopped Garlic – 2-3
  10. Chilliy sauce – 1 tsp Or whole green chilli
  11. Soya sauce – 2 tsp
  12. Tomato sauce – 1 tsp
  13. White vinegar – 1 tsp
  14. Black pepper – 2 pinch


Method –

  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic, onion, spring onion and stir fry for 1-2 minutes.
  • Now add all vegetable (carrot, cabbage, capsicum) and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add salt to taste, black pepper, soya sauce, tomato sauce, white vinegar, green chilly and toss well.


  • Add boiled rice, mix all these ingredients thoroughly and cook for couple of minutes.


  • Chines vegetable rice is ready, garnish with spring onion and serve hot.
