Home Made Strawberry Jam (You need only 3 ingredients)

Ingredients –

  1. Strawberry  -10-15 pcs
  2. Sugar – ½ cup
  3. Lemon – ½

Method –

  • Cut the Strawberry length wise and grind them in mixer.
  • Take the finely grinded strawberry paste into hot pan and add sugar, mix all together and cook on medium flame.
  • Keep stirring every 1-2 minutes continuously, cook it till it gets thick.
  • Add lemon juice and switch off the flame, mix well.
  • Strawberry jam is ready, let it cool down completely and then keep in airtight jar for storage.

Homemade Pineapple Jam

Testy and Yummy…Smile

Ingredients –

  1. Chopped pineapple pieces  -1 cup
  2. Sugar –1 cup
  3. Lemon juice –2 tbsp
  4. Cinnamon stick/powder –1/2 inch
  5. Yellow food color (optional)
  6. Cloves -2

Method –

  • Cut the pineapple in small pieces and grind them in mixer.
  • Take the finely grinded pineapple into a hot pan and add sugar, cinnamon, cloves and yellow color mix all together and cook on medium flame.
  • Keep stirring every 1-2 minutes continuously, cook it till it gets thick.
  • Switch off the flame, take out the cinnamon sticks and cloves from the jam.
  • Now add lemon juice, mix well.
  • Pineapple jam is ready, let it cool down completely and then keep it in airtight jar for storage.

Bread Paneer Vegetables rolls

Bread paneer vegetable roll recipe is good idea for kids tiffin box. This is not only delicious but also full of health benefits I am sure your kids will like this.

Ingredients –

  1. Paneer/ cottage cheese(crumbled) – 1 cup
  2. White/brown slices of bread – 6
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Vegetable oil/butter
  5. Pizza sauce –2 tbsp
  6. All purpose flour(Maida) /corn starch–1 tbsp
  7. Chopped carrots –1/2 cup
  8. Green peas –1/2 cup
  9. Chopped onions –1/2 cup
  10. Ginger-Garlic paste (optional)
  11. Chopped green chilli (optional)

You can use any kind of vegetables (beans, capsicum, etc.)

Method –

  • Heat a pan on medium flame, add oil and chopped onions sauté for few minutes. (If you are using ginger-garlic you can add now with onions)

  • Add chopped carrot and green peas, sauté them until it turns golden in color.

  • Add crumbled paneer and salt cook for few minutes.

  • After few minutes add pizza sauce mix all together and cook for few minutes. Once this is ready turn off the flame let it cool down.

  • Trim the edges of the breads.

  • Make a thin paste of the Maida with little water, brush the edge of the bread with this paste. Place a mixture on the edge of the bread, press the edges from all sides to seal the edges.

  • Heat a pan with butter and sallow fry all the breads roll till they turn golden brown in color on both the sides.
  • You can also bake the bread rolls instead of frying.

  • Bread paneer vegetable roll is ready,  serve with tomato ketchup.

Raw Mango Chutney (Plastic chutney)

  1. Raw Mango -1
  2. Ghee /Oil –1 table spoon
  3. Fennel seeds –1 tea spoon
  4. Bay leaves –2
  5. Jiggery/sugar  -1 cup (as per your taste)
  6. Red chilli powder –1/2 tea spoon (as per your taste)
  7. Black salt –1/2 tea spoon
  8. Gram masala –1/2 tea spoon
  9. Turmeric powder –1 pinch for color (optional)
  10. Raisins (optional)

Method –

  • Peel the Mango and grate with grater.

  • Heat a pan add ghee, fennel seeds and bay leaves cook for few second.

  • Add grated mango, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes on medium flame.

  • After 2-3 minutes add Jaggery, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and gram masala.

  • Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes, keep stirring till it become little thick.
  • Mango chutney is ready to serve.

Popcorn Sweet Balls/Laddus

Ingredients –

  1. Unsalted Popcorns –4 cups
  2. Jaggery –1 cup
  3. Ghee –1 tsp

Method –

  • Heat a pan/kadai  on medium flame and add ghee into  it.

  • Once the ghee is melted, add jaggery and add a little water to it and allow the jaggery to melt, stir continuously.

  • Once the jaggery is completely melted, turn the stove on low flame and add popcorns to the pan, mix everything.

  • Turn off the flame, keep it aside and let it cool for few minutes.

  • Apply a little water on your hands, pick up the mixture and roll it in a ball. Repeat the same for the complete mixture.

  • Popcorns laddu/balls  are ready to be served.

Roasted Cumin (Jeera) powder/ Red Chilli powder

For roasted cumin powder-

Ingredients –

  1. Whole cumin seeds – 1 cup

Method-

  • Heat a pan on medium flame, add cumin seeds, roast till it turns light brown in color.
  • Keep stirring, otherwise cumin seeds will get burnt.
  • Let it cool down completely.
  • Transfer the roasted cumins in a mixer jar and grind it to fine powder.
  • Keep the powder in the air tight container and use as required.

For red chilli powder-

Ingredients –

  1. Whole dried  red chilli (you can take any kind of chilli) – 1 cup

Method –

  • Remove the stem of the chillies.
  • Heat a pan, roast the chillies for 3-4 minutes on low flame.
  • Let it cool down  completely, transfer the roasted red chilli in a mixer jar and grind it to fine powder.
  • Wait for 5 minutes before you open the mixer jar cover.
  • Red chilli powder is ready, keep the powder in the air tight container and use as required.

Pineapple Raita

Ingredients –

  1. Yogurt/curd –1 cup
  2. Chopped Pineapple pieces –1/2 cup
  3. Chopped Green chilli or red chilli powder – 1 (as per your taste)
  4. Chopped coriander leaves –1 table spoon
  5. Roasted Cumin powder –1/2 tea spoon
  6. Black salt (as per your taste)
  7. Chaat masala powder –1/2 tea spoon

Method-

  • Take a bowl, add curd and whisk it.
  • Add chopped pineapple, chopped green chili, black salt, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala and mix well.
  • Transfer raita into a serving bowl, garnish with pineapple pieces.
  • Serve with your meals.

Black Pepper(Kaali Mirch) powder or Cardamom(Elaichi) powder

Today I am going to share with you, how to make cardamom powder and black pepper powder. Both are favorite ingredients used in Indian recipes.

Ingredients –

For Black pepper powder –

  1. Whole black pepper –1 cup

Method –

  • Transfer the whole black pepper in a mixer jar and grind it to fine powder.
  • Keep the powder in the air tight container and use as required.

For Cardamom powder –

Ingredients –

  1. Whole green cardamom

Method –

  • Peel the skin of the cardamoms.
  • Put the seeds in the small jar of mixer grinder, grind it till you get a fine powder.
  • Store the cardamom powder in air tight container and use as required.

Kitchen Tips of the Day

  1. You can prepare fresh Ghee at home by melting the unsalted butter on gas stove for few minutes till you get the smell of ghee.

  2. Instead of discarding the skin of cardamom you can keep that in your tea container with tea, this will give a soft aroma of cardamom when you will prepare your tea.

  3. If you want to store the wheat flour dough, keep a piece of ginger with the dough and keep in the refrigerator. This will keep your dough fresh and prevent blackening of dough.

Sonth(Dry Ginger) or Gond ka laddu

Winter is here…..and its good to have Gond ka laddu during winter. It gives warmth, immunity and energy to the body. So I am sharing with you. Hope you enjoy… Smile

Ingredients –

  1. Wheat flour – 4 cups
  2. Dry ginger powder – 2 table spoon
  3. Sugar/Jaggery – 2 cups or as per your taste
  4. Turmeric powder – 1 tea spoon
  5. Dry fruits(almonds, cashew, etc.)- 1.5 cup
  6. Muskmelon seeds – 1 table spoon
  7. Gond / edible gum resin – 1 table spoon
  8. Ghee –2 cup
  9. Black pepper powder –  1 tsp

Method –

  • Add ghee in the pan/kadai on medium flame.
  • Put gond in the melted ghee and fry till it becomes light brown in color.

  • Take out the gond in a bowl, now fry dry fruits till it becomes light brown in color.

  • Take out the dry fruits in a separate  bowl.
  • Add the wheat  flour in a kadai, cook till the wheat flour becomes light brown in color.

  • Take out the wheat flour in a separate bowl.
  • Add ginger powder to the pan, keep stirring and roast the sonth for about 1 minutes.

  • Take out the ginger powder in a bowl, add muskmelon seeds to the pan, cook for few seconds.

  • Grind the dry fruits using a mixer.

  • Put the fried gond in a plate and press it using a rolling pin or mug/glass.

  • Take a large utensil, add all the ingredients, turmeric powder and sugar, mix all together.
